Once upon a time Garry tried Active Imagination

Hello dear friends, so I am reading and learning more and more about Carl Jung’s theories, archetypes, collective unconsciousness and SHADOWS. So, the “SHADOW” is a part of ourselves, and unwanted or undeveloped part of ourself that we put into the unconscious realm. The shadow realm if you will. We don’t want to admit that these parts of ourselves exist and we don’t see these behaviours because they live in shadow or the unconscious realm. They do come up to the surface from time to time in the form of resentments, judgments, jealousy. “When we judge someone and say that person is so greedy I just can’t stand that person.” Well, that’s the shadow part. We mean we catch a glimpse of greediness within ourselves projected on someone else, since we do not like what we see we judge that other person. It’s really a fascinating way to look at things. But, there is a way, according to Carl Jung, to actively engage with those shadow beings. He invented a process called “active imagination”. It’s really very interesting, I think it would be neat to communicate with this trickster shadow being. Well, that’s all I have for now, I am going to do some active imagination sessions.
