This is the introduction of an old man living off grid collecting water from a nearby spring. I remember when I was a kid, we would go to the shore where there was a spring hole. That was the best water. My family kept it clean there was never any danger of contaminates. We would practically live by the water all summer long. I hate to get nostalgic about it, but the idea that these springs still exist you know. There seems to be this local universal sign that a spring was nearby when you saw a cup hanging from a branch and black pipe sticking out of the ground. There’s clean water nearby. So this character is an archetype. He’s an old man living alone. Kind of like a hermit or a shaman. He has knowledge but he is a recluse. He doesn’t want to share his knowledge. Later on in the story I want to reveal why. But at this point in the story, he is choosing to live away from society and there are consequences to that type of lifestyle. I wonder if the reason why he chooses to live alone is because of guilt? Maybe this archetype did something he is not taking responsibility for so he chooses exile. I am recording this slow quiet footage of me drawing out the storyboard. I think it’s the opposite of this fast dopamine hit that is popular now a days. Why not slow and relaxing you can hear the birds in the background and pencil scratching on paper.
I’m going to write a much deeper detail of the old man in my patreon account. So If you are interested please follow me on Patreon.
