Once Upon a Time there was an Artist Named Garry Sanipass…

I thought I’d start creating some paintings on a canoe paddle. The idea is that a canoe without a paddle is directionless, without an ability to manoeuvre. So the paddle is a symbol of direction, choices we make in life. A life story can be painted onto a paddle.

So, I blocked out a basic shape now I’m removing excess wood. Later on I’ll sand it and then put some raw hide glue. But that’s gonna take a while. There’s a lot of wood to remove.
